VHF Radio Scale Model Accessory

It’s based on a modern VHF radio and works just as well on model boats as it does in dioramas, railway layouts, workshops, control rooms, or interior scenes.

Each radio is 3D printed in PLA and scaled carefully so it looks right for the model size you’re working with. Different scale options are available, along with a choice of colours, so you can match it to your build or paint and weather it yourself.

The VHF radio is scaled from real-world reference dimensions.
You choose the scale, and the model is resized proportionally to suit.

Sizes are listed by scale with the Height

Colours

Grey – ideal for painting and weathering

Black – clean and ready to use

Other colours may be added over time

Finish & Painting

Minor surface marks or light flashing may be present due to the 3D printing process and can be easily removed with a craft knife or fine sandpaper.

Priming is recommended before painting.

Acrylic paints work best; apply several thin coats for the best result.

Preparation & Use

These models are produced using high-quality FDM 3D printing in PLA, resulting in fine layer lines and subtle surface texture. At smaller scales, these details are typically minimal when printed using optimised settings.

Each item is carefully produced using tuned print settings and inspected prior to dispatch to ensure it meets our quality standards for hobby use.

These parts are designed specifically for RC and scale modelling enthusiasts and are intended to be finished, painted, and detailed to match individual builds.

Light preparation such as sanding or filling may be required to achieve a fully smooth, high-end finish depending on the desired result.

Some components may include support structures from the printing process. These are removed during post-processing, and minor cleaning or light sanding may be required on internal or low-visibility areas.

Surface Preparation
Gently remove minor imperfections using a craft knife or fine-grit sandpaper.

Priming
Apply a suitable primer to improve paint adhesion and enhance surface smoothness.

Painting
Use quality acrylic paints. Multiple thin coats are recommended for best results, allowing full drying between layers.
